Caradoc Townsend Mutual (CTM) is a local mutual insurer that has served the counties of Ontario’s South Coast for more than a century. Founded in 1879 by a group of local farmers, CTM offered affordable insurance not available through larger international companies. CTM’s roots as a locally based, service-focused, member-owned entity remain strong today. Over the years, CTM has grown while continuing to provide affordable insurance solutions across Southern Ontario. With offices in Waterford and Komoka, we are well-placed to serve our clients. We remain deeply committed to our local communities.
CTM is organized like a co-operative so each customer is also a member, and the members actually own the company. Each year, we successfully provide reliable insurance to members at a low cost.
The Board of Directors is elected by the members, and each Director is also a policyholder. They govern the company with our communities in mind rather than reporting to distant shareholders.

As a longstanding corporate citizen, CTM proudly supports local agriculture and community organizations. We sponsor local fairs, youth sports, service clubs, and senior support organizations. We also support hospitals, food banks, and offer scholarships for local youth pursuing higher education. CTM contributed to the Waterford Arena “Raise the Roof” campaign, Norfolk General Hospital Foundation, and The Waterford Heritage Trail. CTM launched the CTM Care Campaign to strengthen our commitment to local communities.
